I would like to thank everyone for your comments. I also hope that I have been helpful to those of you who have contacted me directly.
I can not stress enough right now how GREAT I feel. I am to the point where my mind and body almost feel normal again. I honestly did not think that I was going to have a good quality of life when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease back in 2006. I now see otherwise and there is hope for all of you out there that are doubting overcoming this disease. Please do yourself a favor and don't get distraught by the negative stories by those on the Internet. You are only going to make yourself upset and depressed. I think those who post negative out comes from the RAI treatment do not really have a full understanding of the disease or are not correctly taking care of themselves or in general just like to complain or just want someone to feel bad for them. I also think people are quick to blame their Thyroid on every single symptom they may have going on in their body. I mean come on just because you have a disease it does not mean that every single symptom is because of your disease. I know plenty of people who complain about issues going on with their body and some of the issues mimic those of Thyroid disease, but they have a clean bill of health. Just my opinion!!!!
Anyways right now I am on my 6th week of Synthroid. My next doctors appointment is scheduled the first week of February, so I will post my updated labs then. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I continue to feel good!!!
For those of you considering RAI you do not have to be fearful of the treatment or the outcome. I am proof of that and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I know some of you are fearful in that you may end up with cancer from the RAI treatment. They way I look at is if I end up with cancer from the RAI in 30 years then so be it. That means I get to live another 30 years of a normal life over another 30 years of living in misery if I chose not to do the RAI treatment. Fact is my life is going to come to end at some point and even if I chose not to do the RAI treatment I still could end up with cancer. Even if I do end up with cancer who's to say it would be from the RAI treatment.
I thought it would be interesting to rate my symptoms from my prior post on 9/11/2010. You will see how many of my symptoms have now disappeared due to the RAI treatment.

The only side affects I am now experiencing from being Hypo is that my hair is still falling out however this is also a side affect from the Synthroid and my energy level is still low, but it has improved since I started taking the Synthroid. I assume my energy level will increase as I start to level out toward a normal hormone level. Its been hard having a low energy level but I would NEVER trade it back for all of the symptoms above.
